About Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna

Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna is an 88-bed, not for profit facility operated by Adventist Health System (AHS) as a joint venture with Emory Healthcare. The hospital was founded in the early 1970's when a group of physicians recognized a need for a hospital in Smyrna. On June 3, 1974 the hospital (then known as Smyrna Hospital) admitted its first patient. Adventist Health System purchased the hospital in 1976 and it became the first health-care institution in the Atlanta area to be affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Adventist Health System owns and manages hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies and health care systems and an array of other services. With 37 hospitals located across the United States, Adventist Health System is the largest not-for-profit Protestant hospital system in the country.

Along with the benefits of association with Emory University and the recognized excellence of the South's leading tertiary care hospital, the joint venture makes it possible for the shared mission of the hospitals to succeed. Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna is a Christian facility, which cares for the needs of the whole person-body, mind and spirit. Commitment to the hospital's faith-based mission ensures that the business of medicine works hand in hand with the art of caring.

  • I have been out of nursing for 17 years. I just finished my RN refresher course at KSU and received my RN license. I did not need any loan reimbursement but do need a good orientation on med-surg. I am looking to work 3 12 hour day shifts. I can start December 26th. Do you have any positions?

  • Do you currently have any med/surg PRN positions available? How many shifts are PRN employees required to work a month?

  • Are positions for new grad RN's specifically posted as such? What type of orientation process is offered for new grad RN's?

  • At times we bring on new grad RN's. These specific positions are requiring candidates who can begin work as soon as possible. At this time, we are not offering incentives for loan repayment. Thank you for your interest.

  • The weeknight shifts will typically vary, but will only include Monday - Thursday shifts. For non-Baylor employees, the benefit options are determined by the employee status (ei: full time or part time). All part time and full time employees accrue PTO and have the option for benefits, however full time employees have a lower premium to pay, as the employer covers more of the cost. I hope that answers the questions! If not, please let me know.

  • Are the hours for the weekday nights the same days each week or will the days change weekly? Are the options the same as the Baylor regarding benefits?

  • Are these positions open to new grads? I will be graduating May 2010. Is there any incentive programs for loan repayment? Thank you

  • We have two seperate Baylor options. Both include Saturday and Sunday shifts. One option offers a higher rate of differential pay with no benefits and no accrued PTO. The other option does offer benefits and PTO.
