Certified Wound Care Registered Nurse
Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna is currently seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to join our facility in a Wound Care and Education role. Position requires active GA RN license, Wound Care Certification. Candidates must have flexible availability.
Responsibilities will include:
- Pre and post operative ostomy education
- Care of patients with wounds requiring interventions beyond capabilities of med/surg RN
- Assist nursing staff with patien on wound vac
- Educate nursing staff on wound staging and skin break-down prevention strategies
- Create and implement yearly skin care competency for nursing including prevention and treatment of skin tears
- Educate nursing staff on documentation of wound care
- Serve as liaison between physicians, nursing staff, social services and rehab to coordinate patient care
- Establish and lead a multidisciplinary wound care tema to meet at least quarterly
- Review, update and/or create wound care policies
Ideal candidates will posess superior interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task while working effectively to provide wound care to our patients and train and educate our nursing staff.
Compensation will be competitive within the Atlanta market and will based upon experience.
